MEET THE ARTIST
Matthew is a painter with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Otago Polytechnic University NZ, specialising in Printmaking and Painting. With a foundation in realism, his work captures the essence of his surroundings with precision and depth, yet he also explores impressionistic techniques to bring a sense of movement and atmosphere to his compositions.
Inspired by his travels and dual life between Australia and Thailand, Matthew’s paintings reflect a rich contrast of environments—from the vibrant cityscapes and coastal beauty of Sydney’s shores to the lush, tropical landscapes of Thailand. Whether working from still life or his own photography, he translates the world around him into evocative, immersive scenes that celebrate light, color, and a moment in time.
His portfolio spans cityscapes, landscapes, and seascapes, each piece telling a story of place and memory. As both a traveler and observer, his work invites viewers to see familiar locations through his unique artistic lens—where realism and impressionism meet in harmony.
